Take Spectacular Nighttime Photos with your Digital Camera - Part II

Filed under: Living With Lifestyle @ 8:05 pm

Night photos can take on a somewhat magical quality you may find
lacking in normal daytime photography. Amazing night pictures
certainly can attract attention. As the sun goes down, however,
it becomes harder to capture images without the proper equipment
and techniques. Thus, as was mentioned in Part I of this series,
taking incredible nighttime photographs requires a lot of
planning.

When your digital camera receives less light, it cannot absorb
the surroundings as well in the resulting photographs. Some
pictures may turn out too dark. Others can be too blurry. Your
camera requires more time to absorb enough light to create an
effective picture, so any shaking of the device will result in
photographs lacking sharpness.

To compensate for the lack of lighting, here are several things
you can do with most middle and high-end digital cameras to get
the results you need. Part III of this series will continue with
even more expert ideas.

* You may think that professional photographers take a large
amount of time to set up a shot, perform complex calculations,
talk about all sorts of topics such as f-stops, shoot one
photograph that accurately represents their interpretation of a
particular scene, and then leave.

While most of this may be true, the last part - only taking one
photo - is far from it. Many, if not most, professional
photographers commonly take a multitude of shots for every
subject! Traditional photographers can go through rolls and
rolls of film on a single shoot, and digital photographers may
use gigabytes of memory.

Professionals know that no matter how well everything has been
factored in when setting up a shot, ’stuff happens’. It is
better to take time shooting a particular subject ten times and
get one outstanding photograph than to take one or two photos
that turn out blurry or dull.

Most photographers perform a trick called bracketing, where they
intentionally adjust their camera settings in small increments
in case their calculations were not precisely correct.

Heed this advice when taking photographs at night. If you have a
particular subject you want to reproduce in digital form, don’t
rely on taking ‘the one perfect shot’, but take several
photographs in case problems occur with the lighting, or lack
thereof.

Remember, you’re shooting digitally, which means you can later
throw out all the bad photos in your camera’s virtual ‘trash
can’, and no one ever needs to know! I can’t tell you how many
times I’ve done this, especially when taking late-night shots of
the Chicago cityscape in places I couldn’t bring a tripod. I may
shoot hundreds of shots and only keep a few dozen.

* If your digital camera has a special nighttime mode, study
your manual and learn how to enable this feature. Perhaps your
camera has a button or dial next to a graphic of a half-moon to
signify this setting. This works well for some late-night
situations.

* Forget about using the flash unless you purchase a
high-quality accessory flash unit. Flash shoots a burst of light
out of your camera and works most effectively when your subject
is within a few feet. If your subject is a long way away, your
small flash unit will never reach it effectively.

Nighttime photography requires a little extra work out of you
and your digital camera. To prevent against mistakes and
increase the chance of a spectacular shot, it may be necessary
to take the same picture multiple times, adjusting your camera
settings slightly to help ensure at least one picture will come
out well. The digital camera manual must be studied, as many
high-end cameras contain automatic features to help take better
photos. And, a natural tendency most people have to use flash
must be avoided. By heeding this advice, you can learn to take
spectacular nighttime photos.

Look forward to article III in this series in the near future!

Bless the Children

Filed under: Living With Lifestyle @ 10:23 am

Previous generations where raised under the premise that
children are to be seen and not heard. If they altered in
teaching, the next generation was heard. But, their words
weren’t taken seriously; as adults always think they know more
than children do.

Following generations often have few to no guidelines, wherein
children’s behavior screams for someone to care enough to say,
“No.”

Though, what if God did that to us? When we call out to Him,
can you imagine God responding with, “I can’t hear you”? When we
cry, what if He mocked our words, “Cry my hands full. You’re
nothing but a big baby”? Or, we could be given blame for all
that ails us, “All he does is wine”, or even worse, “Come here
and I’ll give you something to cry about!”

What if God didn’t care more about you than the comfort of the
moment, “Sure, do whatever you want. I just want you to like
me.” Try some of that on church visitation and see how effective
you are. But, instead, God takes great care in parenting, to do
it right. He looks deeper, to meet the need of the heart.

Why should God listen to our prayers when we don’t listen to
our children?

Doesn’t God love us enough to say, “No”, when it will hurt us
or someone else?

Still worse were the teachings of ’spare the rod, spoil the
child’. During the days of preaching ‘hell, fire, and
brimstone’, parents showed children what they thought God was
like; drawing blood, in the name of the Lord. What happened to
“thy rod and thy staff they comfort me”?

Is it any wonder adults think they can’t come to God?

Once children “know” they have a consistent place of refuge
they can depend upon, in time of need, many annoying traits of
childhood disappear.

Few come to realize children are living souls first and
children second. Taking God as a perfect example, we’re to be
spiritual parents. Only when children become willfully defiant,
for non-need reasons, do we have the right to act in
disciplinary fashions and, still then, with God’s guidance.

If God offered us grace, then, why do we hold children
accountable under our law (or His), without consideration of
extenuating circumstances? When we accuse and punish children,
without considering their heart or getting facts straight, we
could be shedding innocent blood.

“Children are an heritage of the LORD. (They’re not
possessions, but a gift to raise for Him.) The fruit of the womb
is HIS reward,” Ps. 27:3.

“Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make
the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known
by his fruit,” Mt. 12:33. The relationship children have with
parents will affect their relationship with God. For, however we
perceive earthly parents is how we perceive God.

“Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not
prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils?
And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I
profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that
work iniquity,” Mt. 7: 21-23.

As is with everything, the only way to parent perfectly is to
ask God every time (letting Him be our parent). “Not every one
that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of
heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in
heaven. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and
doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his
house upon a rock,” Mt. 7:21, 24.

“If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any
comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels
and mercies, Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the
same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done
through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each
esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his
own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this
mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus,” Ph. 2:1-5.

In every way God loves us, we’re to love others in return and
that includes the children; grace for grace, Jn. 1:16. It’s our
opportunity to give thanks.

woodland hideaway caravan park

This is my review on woodland hideaway caravan park.

The park was great to stay at with lovely views and well kept gardens, We have sold our caravan there but it was a lovely place and really was a shame to leave it. Caravan parks in wales are usually good, but this place was excellent.

With friendly staff and a loverly environment I kinda wished we had stayed, caravanning. We usually drove down on a friday in our nissan xtrail, parked up and enjoyed the sea views, then when it got a bit colder (this was august) we went inside and watched a little tv and did some reading. A great drive to a great holiday camp.
