Physics Online

There are great physics online college physics help resources which will help you to prepare for your physics finals. Even if you’ve procrastinated the whole semester these tips can provide help with physics.

Pick out the key lessons of your course and then summarize focal points of each of these.  Do you remember a specific physics question that you left unanswered?  If so, set about answering it.  Resist the notion you are wasting valuable time on a question that may or may not be addressed on the final.  By addressing a past physic question you will be naturally filling in the blanks that you were not aware of.  This is what I like to call studying indirectly.  It makes it so that it doesn’t feel like you are studying for a final when you really are.  My grandfather used to say make a game out of my chores and it won’t feel like work.

The 21st Century of Photography

With the onset of the 21st century, photos can be manipulated and altered in many ways using digital imaging and computer aided techniques. Digital photography started a change in photographic techniques and changed the nature of photography significantly.

Nowadays, the number of photos you can take is much higher, so you can afford to make mistakes. Also, a photograph can often be remedied on the personal computer, even if it was spoiled by too much lighting. While that has made photography more beginner friendly, it is still far from an easy hobby.

If you are into photography, you probably want to get better at it. That requires practice - a lot of it. However, it is often helpful to be taught about the theory, too. That’s why online photography courses have become a popular method both for new photographers to get used to the art and for more experienced photographers to hone their skills.

Photography has been present for more than a hundred years and yet new innovations are taking place even this day. Looking at it, one has to surmise that photography will develop again in the future. It’s never too late to get into photography and even now it’s too early to stop learning more about it.

Improve Your Students’ Skills with Puzzles and Games

Filed under: Education @ 10:46 pm

Pattern recognition, spatial relationships, and logical thinking
are all necessary skills as students learn to read, do math, and
develop problem-solving strategies. Having a big collection of
puzzles and games on hand can make developing these skills fun.

Many children’s magazines contain creative, age-appropriate
games that reinforce the content of the text, but that’s only
one source. You can also enlist parents to contribute crossword
puzzles and other games they find from newspapers and magazines.

Sudoku is all the rage now; papers from the local daily to the
New York Times carry at least one sudoku puzzle in every
issue. Each puzzle consists of a large square, divided into nine
sections in a 3X3 pattern, each of which is divided into nine
more squares, also in a 3×3 pattern. The object of the game is
to place the numerals from 1 to 9 in each of the nine squares of
each section; numerals cannot be repeated within the sections or
across or up and down in any line of squares. A great way for
older kids to practice pattern recognition and problem solving
strategies, the sudoku puzzles range from the simple to the
maddeningly difficult; the New York Post offers both an
easy and difficult puzzle in every issue, and sells sudoku books
as well. A number of websites offer free sukodu puzzles playable
online, and offer software programs which can be purchased and
downloaded; start with sudoku.com.

Mah jongg is an ancient Asian game traditionally played with
decorative tiles arranged and stacked in a three-dimensional
pattern. The object of the game is to find two identical tiles
and remove them from the pile; the trick is that the tiles
cannot have another tile located on top of it or to the left or
right; one side has to be free. Sort of like an elaborate
version of “Old Maid” or “Go Fish,” the tiles have both simple
and complex patterns; several patterns have subtle differences,
demanding fine-tuned pattern recognition skills in addition to
spatial relationship abilities. Simplified versions are
available for younger children. Kids who enjoy tactile
kinesthetic activities will have fun manipulating the tiles;
visually oriented computer fans may prefer one of the many mah
jongg programs available online. Both multi-player and solitaire
versions are available; play a solitaire version
free; or check out multiple versions of mah jongg for
kids.

Yahooligans.com
includes a huge collection of games and other interesting info
for kids. Other websites offer games which can be played online
with other web surfers around the world, but if you’re thinking
of allowing your students access to a game site online, be sure
to check it out and monitor the kids frequently, to make sure
they don’t end up in communication with the wrong people.

You may want to use these games as a springboard for yourself or
your students to develop their own games, for themselves or for
younger kids. A version of sudoku for younger kids, for example,
might involve pictures of nine different kinds of animals; find
a few very simple sudoku puzzles and substitute nine different
animal pictures for the numbers. Create a giant sudoku grid and
make big cardboard or wooden animal pieces to make it easy for
little hands to manipulate them. However you decide to
incorporate games and puzzles into your classroom, it’s a great
way to keep kids learning while they play.

Reflections on Picasso and Masaccio

Filed under: Education @ 6:26 am

A few years ago I had the good fortune to visit Barcelona for a week and feast my eyes and heart on that city’s rich visual heritage. During this time I visited the Picasso museum, which chronicles his life by displaying drawings, paintings and sculptures selected from his prolific output. It does appear true that in his youth he could draw as well as many a master before him. `Conventional’ in execution, his early drawings are testament to his huge talent and skill, which he used in various ways throughout his career.

As Picasso went through life, he seemed to be searching for a way to draw like a child again and produce works that had the simplicity and spontaneous magic of a child’s creation. However, there is a period in his life around 1922-23 when he produced the works that I love the most. I have a card entitled `Mother and Child’, a reproduction of a Picasso whose original is currently in the Baltimore Museum of Art that is so beautiful it almost makes me weep to see it. It shows two figures so utterly at ease with each other, in a soft and tender exchange that it conveys perfection in contentment and mutual self-absorption.

Softness and tenderness are two qualities that actually rarely appeal to me in the art world, which is funny as these heart qualities often come to the fore when I’m trying to do something myself. Maybe it’s because so much of what is in the art- world does not appeal to me that I welcome the `justice-light’ aspect of powerful art. I imagine it cutting through the dross of mediocrity and soppy sentimentality that is often seen in works alluding to something higher or deeper but lacking any solid foundation. How can I say this? Well I can only go on my inner feeling when I look at art and if a piece moves me then I am grateful and encouraged, and if it doesn’t move me, then I move on.

I would like to recommend Masaccio (1401-1428) to anyone that has not heard of him. He is regarded as the first great painter of the Italian Renaissance and greatly influenced those who came after him. I love his work not because of his ground-breaking use of perspective, but for the power and emotion that underpin them. Two of his pictures that move me most profoundly are frescoes painted for the Brancacci Chapel, Italy. They are: `Saint Peter Baptizing’ and `The Expulsion of Adam and Eve from Paradise’. These contain a volcanic energy that simmers and boils, barely contained within the painted surface of the works. It came as no surprise to me that he was a deeply spiritual person and his religious works reflect this. In contrast, many of those who came after him produced work that was technically more advanced and refined but lacking spiritual depth. Michelangelo had power, Raphael had refinement, Leonardo had vision, but Masaccio had Purity and for me, Purity wins

You only need one reason to buy a car..

Filed under: Info Planet, Education, Adventure @ 8:51 am

..I mean why would you not want one? but if you need a reason to go to a car shop and buy a car then its independence. With your own used car you can go anywhere you want, anywhere in the world (passport and money reliant) whenever you want. If your worried about the greenhouse effect or how your car will be ending the world, I wouldn’t - just get a smaller engine or diesel motor then if its new it’ll be as good as it can get in terms of fuel efficiency.

Why I love west wales

I am a nationalist you might say, I love my country and I love what it stands for. No I am not from the United States (lol) I am from the country Wales, right on the west coast. Proud of it too I am, theres nothing like motoring in wales or just going for a drive. I love my car too - An excellent example of a Land rover. Collectable Musical Instruments

n the most awesome thing on the net, musical instruments classed as collectables - now thats a good progression! Its been years where I have been collecting musical instruments of all sorts, trying to get some recognition for beautiful ornate pianos and masterfully crafted guitars and drumkits. I personally love collectable pianos and often find myself seeking a really stunning grand piano out in shops locally. It’s not the sort of thing you come across very often I have to say.

My other passion is collecting unique guitars, rare’s - one of a kinds - I love it! I have 5 custom guitars and 2 standards, combined I believe them to be worth high up in the 10k marks. But I would never sell them - I collect for the love of the musical instrument and so my children can understand the joy of playing wonderful music on an antique old instrument used by many a hand.

An Easier Way to Getting A College Education Online

Filed under: Education @ 11:23 pm

Many people in today’s society do not have the time they want in order to attend a college or university in order to further their education. So, there is an easier way to get a college degree and that is by taking online courses. Online courses are offered in a wide range of subjects from accounting to engineering. These courses are deemed to be the easier way to getting a college degree by doing it online. A college education online will give you the same degree level that you would get if you attended a traditional university or college.

The newest way to get a degree is attending the University of Phoenix online. The University of Phoenix online offers their students a list of courses, a personal admissions counselor, and classes that are fit around your already hectic schedule and lifestyle. With almost sixty online courses and approximately thirteen campuses spread throughout the country, the University of Phoenix is the leading site for getting a college education online. They offer everything from a Bachelor’s degree to a Master’s degree and even offer single classes instead of an entire degree’s worth. They also offer financial assistance for those who are not able to afford an online education. The financial assistance plans that they offer range from helping out a little bit, to making the payments affordable for those that have families and large monthly bills.

There are other web sites that offer the ability to obtain an education degree online. Most sites are affiliated with accredited universities and colleges. However, these sites require that you go to the university or college in order to take the exams issued regularly, as well as the mid-terms and final exams. The internet sites that are linked to accredited universities tend not to offer an affordable education degree online. Sometimes their courses can cost just as much as if you were to attend the classes in person. Be sure to check out as many sites as possible when deciding to get your education degree online and definitely make sure to check out the University of Phoenix online or call one of their toll free numbers. This will ensure an easier way to getting a college degree online.
