Features To Look For When You Buy A Digital Camcorder

Filed under: World Of Products @ 10:59 pm

A camcorder is a great way to document the important events and experiences of your life just as they happened. Still pictures are great for some things, but nothing beats a high quality recording of audio and video from a special event. Because digital camcorders record information that does not degrade over time you can actually watch it years later and it will seem like just yesterday. So if you are in the market for a compact digital camcorder here are some features to look for before you buy:

1. Make sure that you get a digital camcorder that uses a LCD screen for a viewfinder. Once you get used to using a camcorder this way you will never go back to peering through an eyepiece again. Video is often shot while a person is moving or has to walk, and watching a viewfinder allows you to still see where you are going much better than is possible when using the eyepiece. You can also shoot from angles high above your head or low down to the ground and still keep an eye on the action as you film if the LCD screen can be tilted.

2. Look for a digital camcorder that uses at least a 10x optical zoom, although 15x or 20x is even better. There are two types of zooms used on digital camcorders, optical and digital. The optical zoom is the lens itself zooming in, and it produces a nice sharp image throughout it’s focal range usually. The digital zoom simply takes the image already gathered by the lens and magnifies it with no increase of video detail, so video that is shot using a lot of digital zoom can be grainy looking and not very pleasing to the eye. So try to get a digital camcorder that has at least a 10x optical zoom and try not to rely very often on the digital zoom capabilities for the best quality videos.

3. Keep any eye on the power usage of the camcorder that you want to buy. Some sip power and others drink it at a gulp, so look for a camcorder that will let you record continuously for at least 1-2 hours before recharging. Otherwise, you will need to buy an extra battery to carry with you instead.

4. Image stabilization is a very useful feature found in many digital camcorders these days as it will help eliminate some of the shakes that many folks introduce unknowingly into their videos while filming. They may not notice it while they are recording, but once you sit down and try to watch video that constantly bounces around you will really appreciate the image stabilization feature. Of course, image stabilization still cannot make up for wild swings of the camera lens, but it can help control normal camera shake.

There are other features to look out for when you decide to buy a digital camcorder, but the ones mentioned above will help narrow your choice down to those that will most likely do the best job for you and your video needs.

Change Your Life With This Song!

Filed under: Music Portal @ 9:21 pm

Remember that song ìDust in the Wind?î You may think it funny
but some of the biggest mysteries of life are written into the
lyrics of that song. Yes, it may be awkward to name a pop song
as a tome for the wise, but to come to think of it, the song
does make sense ñ enough sense that if you really look deep into
the lyrics you could learn a thing or two that would change your
life. And from these lessons you could synthesize a few more
rules that will change your outlook towards life and could make
your life a whole lot better.

1. We are Dust in the Wind - Here Today, Gone Tomorrow ñ Youth
can make us feel invincible. However, we are not. No matter how
you look at it, there will always be two constants, birth and
death. And for all of us alive right now, there is no mistaking
that we are all mortal. Our time on this world is short. It is
finite. It has an end.

So how does this affect the way we live? For one, it will teach
us to measure our days. You have been given a loan of about 75
years on this world. What should you with it? Waste it? Is there
any goal that you have been putting off for a decade? Look at it
this way - a decade is about 1/7th of your life. That time wonít
come back? When will you be able to work on your goal? The time
is now, and it is passing you by.

It is one of the greatest wisdoms if one were to look at his
life, measure it, and know what to do with the limited time he
or she has on this world. With this short life, try to use your
time wisely.

2. Time is Gold ñ We hear this all the time. And we seem to
think that this means that time is meant to be used to earn gold
ñ or that we should do something to earn with the working hours
we have per day. This has some truth to it. However, the true
meaning of this phrase is that time is priceless. It is here but
once, afterwards it is gone, and no amount of money can bring it
back.

Then what should we do with our time? We shouldnít waste it.
Thatís for sure. This is why many people work so hard everyday ñ
to make the most of their time to earn more. This isnít that bad
at all. Unfortunately, people sometimes overlook that money is
not the only thing ñ and not even the most precious thing ñ one
could get in exchange for their money.

If time is gold ñ then what are memories. Remember that Kodak
ad? Memories are more precious than gold. They too are priceless
(to come to think of it, you could pitch in the MasterCard ad as
well). Think about the people and the things you hold the
dearest. They may be your spouse, your children, your friends,
and your beliefs. But whatever they may be, if you hold them
dear, then spend your time on these things. The memories you
will pass on to your children of their time with their parents
are irreplaceable and have much effect on the future.

People often put off these things since they seem to be always
there saying, ìIíll spend time with them laterí theyíre just
there anyway ñ but this job canít wait.î Unfortunately, these
people often realize too late that their children, or spouse, or
friends wonít be there forever. Children grow up and leave.
Friends could relocate. Spouses could become cold and distanced.
If you know your priorities, spend time for them.

Drop of Water in the Endless Sea ñ Yes, people are part of a
cycle that goes on and on and on. No matter who you may be, or
how great you are, the world will keep on turning without you.
You are not the center of the world or the universe for that
matter. This life is finite. So what should you do with this
life? Spend it for something that will outlive it ñ your
children, your beliefs, etc. Some people spend their life
preparing for something big, but in the end lay on their
deathbeds not knowing what it is. You are smarter. Invest in
this life so that it may go beyond this life.

Can You Pass This Options Online Trading Cost Test - Most People Fail

Filed under: Online Investment @ 8:34 pm

There are two types of stops that you will use constantly as a trader, protective stops and trailing stops. When looking at your options online trading cost, generally, positions start out with protective stops to guard your investment, and move to trailing stops when the trade becomes profitable. But the best way to familiarize yourself with stops, and how to set them is to consider them being used in a trade.

Let`s say you take a long position in a stock in anticipation of its earnings announcement. It had traded at around $13 for many weeks, but last week it ran up to $16, as the first sign of its earnings run. It then slowly dropped to $14.40 over the course of two days and stabilized there for a day and a half. Today it`s started to slowly move up again, and you think it`ll keep going. You decide to buy, and put in a limit buy order at $14.8 which executes at $14.76. Since it isn`t the strongest company and the market has been flat, you decide to set a reasonably tight protective stop. You don`t want to set it too tightly, though, since the stock isn`t very volatile and the time frame for your trade is about five days. To work this tip effectively and cut your options online trading cost, it`s important to set protective stops below support levels, so you look to see where the stock has support.

There are two support levels: $13, where it traded for weeks, and $14.40, where it stabilized recently. Its resistance level is $16. If the stock moves down from where you bought it, it will almost certainly bounce at $14.40. If the stock then drops below $14.40, you would assume it isn`t ready to move up yet, and you`d be better off stopping out there and buying again later. For this reason, you also determine there`s no reason to let the stock move all the way down to $13.

Therefore, you set a protective stop at $13.75. You don`t want to set it right at $14.40, since the stock will bounce near $14.40 and then either start back up or continue down. For the same reason, you don`t set the stop above $14.40. But $13.75 seems a good place to stop, since no support level is absolute, and the stock could bounce off $14.30, or $14.50, as easily as it could bounce off $14.40. If the stock gets as low as $13.75, though, that would suggest that the stock will actually break through support. The rule is that a clear break of support is dictated by where a stock closes, not by intraday swings.

Let`s say you`ve made a good trade, and the same stock rises to $15.10, stays there for a period of time, dips sharply to $14.43, and then picks up volume and rises rapidly. It breaks through its new resistance at $15 and starts the climb to $16. The market is rallying. Now is the time to start to think about using trailing stops to protect your profit. You`re starting to accumulate a nice one. At $15.50, you`ve made 5%, and if the stock hits $16.24, your profit will be 10%. You decide that the stock should stay above its old resistance of around $15 unless something unexpected occurs. Now that the stock has broken $15, that price will serve as a new support level. Remember, old resistance becomes new support. You move your stop up to $14.85.

The stock could pull back a bit at $16, since that level served as the ceiling before. When the stock nears $16, you can choose to either take profits by selling out directly or by setting a very tight trailing stop, or by increasing the looser stop trigger to 15.30 in anticipation of further upward movement. At $16 the stock will already have moved up almost 25% from its long-time price of $13, and it may not rise through $16 so easily. You decide to set a tight stop once it hits $16 instead of selling out, just to give it a chance. So once it hits $15.70, you move your stop up to $15.20; when it hits $16, you move the stop up to $15.75.

The market`s rally intensifies after great earnings reports from three leading companies, and your stock runs up to $16.73 before it begins to fade. You quickly sell out at $16.68 for a nice 13% profit. If it had pulled back after hitting $16, you would have stopped out at $15.75 with a profit of nearly 7%. You could then have rebought the stock if it dropped even lower and you were still convinced that it would eventually move up again.

This example demonstrates effective ways to use both protective and trailing stops that will help minimize your options online trading cost. Though each trade is unique, putting good stops in place will always perform the critical tasks of protecting your investment and reduce your options online trading cost. This locks in your profit, if you use them properly. Once you`ve mastered the art of setting stops, you will find your profits will greatly exceed your losses, and you will be well on your way to trading success.

Planting Red Oak Trees

Filed under: Online Science Resources @ 10:58 am

Planting Red Oak Trees Red Oak Trees. Whenever I think of Red
Oak Trees, I remember hunting when I was a kid and standing near
trees that were giants. Now every Red Oak tree I plant, I can
invision those days in the deep woods and those grand trees and
hope someone else will have that same enjoyment. These trees
will help you too in establish a desired vision to your
landscape.

Beyond their size, Red Oak Trees also fill important ecological
niches. They grow across broad ranges of forest and urban
conditions, finding much of North America to their liking.

Red Oak Trees need protection from deer, disease, insects, and
competing weeds and shrubs. The better your weed control the
better your trees will grow. When seedlings are planted, it best
to plant them with large spacings to allow more light to the
plant. If these trees are planted in shade, they tend to be more
open. Red Oak Trees are used around new construction because
they perform in a wide range of soil conditions. Threse trees
can take wetter soils than most trees and are many time found in
native areas near creek or river banks. If you have compacted
soil from new construction, we suggest smaller trees of 3-5′
height.

All people handling seedlings and small trees need to help with
the life support of your plants. Seedlings are like fish out of
water and need care which is often overlooked between the time
the seedlings are lifted and transplanted. Improper care means
higher mortality. Do not try and reinvent the wheel. You must
protect seedling from moisture and temperature extremes, as well
as physical damage. Seedlings are living and should be handled
carefully. For a higher survival rate, treat trees carefully and
plant them immediately. I like to have a backup plan for
planting if the weather turns bad. I will sometimes switch from
lining out the seedlings to potting them up if I realize that
the soil conditions will not be right for an extended lenght of
time. If planting must be delayed a few days, keep the plants in
a cold, protected place with air circulation between the trees.
Keep the trees out of the rain and wind. To check if the trees
need water, feel the media at the roots.. If it isn’t damp,
water the trees and allow the excess water to drain. In cool,
damp weather, the biggest threat to these trees is from mold.
Try to keep out of soil seedlings moist by either restricting
water loss with a water vapor barrier or by wetting the roots at
regular intervals. While handling or planting try to reduce
temperature and air movement around the seedlings. Windy days
can dry out seedlings so consider waiting for calmer weather.
Once your soil conditions are correct OUR FREE USE PLANTERS will
make planting a snap so its will be worth waiting for good
planting conditions.

HOW TO PLANT

Ideal planting days are cool and cloudy with little or no wind.
If possible, avoid planting on warm, windy days. The soil should
be moist not wet. Care in planting is more important than speed.
Make sure the roots are never allowed to become dry. Bare root
seedlings should be carried in a waterproof bag or bucket with
plenty of moist material packed around the roots to keep them
damp. Ideally, bare root boxes should be kept refrigerated or
packed in ice or snow. Don’t freeze the trees. Competition from
weeds, grass, brush or other trees is very detrimental to
survival and growth of seedlings. Choose areas free from this
competition or clear at least a three-foot square bare spot
before planting. Seedlings should not be planted under the crown
of existing trees, or closer than 6 feet to existing brush.
Avoid areas near walnut trees. Brush aside loose organic
material such as leaves, grass, etc., from the planting spot to
expose mineral soil. If organic matter gets into the planting
hole, it can decompose and leave air spaces. Roots will dry out
when they grow into these spaces. Open up the hole, making sure
the hole is deep enough for the roots to be fully extended. If
roots are curled or bunched up, the tree will not be able to
take up water correctly, will often weaken and die, or may blow
down later due to poor root structure. Take a tree out of your
planting bag or bucket only after a hole is ready. When exposed,
the fine roots can dry out in as little as 30 seconds. Seedling
shoots and roots lose water to air, roots require more
protecting.Unlike leaves ,they do not have stomata (closeable
openings on the surface of the leaves) or any waxy coatings to
help reduce water loss. If the roots apear dry they are probably
dead. Now I know you are thinking,”I will place them in a
buckect of water and store them there until planting”. This will
not work. Submerge plants for no longer that a couple of
minutes. Placing them in water cuts them off from oxygen.
Remember to remove the container before planting a containerized
tree. A helpful hint to all those new gardeners just starting is
to remember to always plant green side up. Hold the seedling in
place in the hole, making sure the roots are straight, fully
extended and that the tree is neither too shallow or too deep in
the hole. Fill hole, allowing soil to fall in around the roots.
Tamp with hands or with your heel. Don’t crush the roots by
jumping up and down around the seedling like there is a snake
curled up around the seedling. It is delicate. Fill with more
soil, if necessary, and tamp. Tamping is important. If soil is
not firmly packed around the roots, there will be air pockets
that can dry out the roots, and the seedlings may be weakly
anchored. It is far easier to plant the tree strait up then have
the tree leaning and have to adjust the tree later. (Addition of
fertilizer and plant vitamins at the time of planting is not
generally necessary.) Take your time in planting. Proper spacing
will help you grow a more valuable crop. I have tried to get
more production from a limited area by over planting and then
thinning, but I always have had trouble in harvesting ….
digging is slower and poor quality usually results for a portion
of the crop. Avoid these tree planting errors:

Tangled roots Planting too shallow Planting too deep Air pockets
Turned up roots (this is called J rooting) Planting trees that
are not tolerant of wet soils in poorly drained areas Planting
over rocks, septic tanks and leach fields, on sand mounds

CARE OF TREES FOLLOWING PLANTING Check periodically to be sure
that brush, grass and other vegetation is kept under control by
mowing, mulching, spraying or a combination of these treatments.
Always obtain advice from a licensed pest control advisor before
using chemicals. You ag extension agency may offer courses in
application of chemicals. Monitoring the appearance of your
trees will help you to detect signs of insects, diseases or
other problems. Apperances also help sell your product. Look for
foliage turning yellow, new foliage drooping or other signs of
poor health. It is easier to take successful corrective action
if the problem is detected early.

Over watering is a common problem in irrigated plantations. You
probably won’t need to water more frequently than every 7-10
days. Give your trees a thorough, deep soak and then let the
soil dry out before the next watering. This encourages the roots
to grow down in search of water. Frequent, shallow watering
encourages root growth near the surface and the trees are more
dependent on irrigation and are less windfirm. Animals can be a
major cause of damage to young trees. Porcupines, gophers, mice,
rabbits, deer and cattle are the most frequent source of damage.
In many states you may have to call your game commission and get
their recomendations on legal methods to protect your crop. In
our state, you can get help from the Pa. Game Commission to kill
deer that are a threat to your seedlings or obtain a free fence
to keep deer away from your seedlings. Over the years we have
lost more trees to mice than any other animal. Put rat baits out
on a regular basis. Over the years we have lost more seedlings
and plants to mice than any other culprit including deer and
rabbitts combined. You an see more articles about the care of

Divorce, Self Sabotage And The Fear of Intimacy

Filed under: Universe Of Relationships @ 2:00 am

The fear of intimacy is responsible for a great deal of the self sabotage that individuals engage in while in relationships.

If you’ve ever experienced it I think you’ll recognize that it seems to happen almost automatically and as if you have little control over it. Unfortunately after the damage that it wreaks has been done it has not only undermined the relationship it has also traumatized you in the process.

The nature of the trauma can take many forms:

1. Lowered self confidence.

2. Lowered self esteem.

3. Lowered self worth.

4. Feeling defective in some way.

5. Feeling guilty.

6. Feeling like a failure.

7. Feeling depressed.

8. Feeling hopeless.

9. Feeling empty.

10. Greater fears of intimacy.

And so on…

Of course all of this along with the memory of the self sabotage gets stored in your mind and body and adds to the earlier trauma that caused the fear of intimacy in the first place.

Yes, you read that correctly. Trauma in the form of abuse, neglect and/or abandonment is what leads to this fear. Let me explain.

When an individual is traumatized at an early age they often attempt to explain to themselves why such trauma occurred to them in the first place. Children have the tendency to blame themselves for what happens to them even when they might not have been the cause.

They do this because the idea of blaming the other person, sometimes a parent or other care taker is too threatening to them especially if they are dependent on that person. Doing so, they fear, might cause the caretaker to withdraw their love.

So in order to protect the relationship the child unconsciously blames themselves for the incident and then carries this inside of themselves along with the memory of the incident and the emotional pain associated with it.

All of this usually becomes stored in the unconscious mind and body and if not uncovered and resolved it tends to fuel the fear of intimacy in later life.

In order to understand this it’s important to recognize that this fear sits on a deeper fear, that of being rejected or abandoned. This latter fear also sits on a deeper belief which is that one could potentially be abandoned and therefore would make the individual unlovable.

This belief that one is unlovable is based on the early trauma I mentioned above and also on the childhood interpretation of the memory which is that it happened because the child was bad and therefore potentially unlovable.

Now for a child this belief is like the kiss of death. It is felt as something akin to feelings of annihilation and therefore is extremely painful and to be avoided at all costs.

The fear of intimacy is supposed to protect the individual from ever experiencing the belief or fear that they are not lovable while in a relationship. So if an individual believes they are unlovable yet desires to be in a relationship it’s like they are playing a losing game.

They essentially have to pretend they are someone else because they believe that they are not lovable simply as themselves.

Well of course I think you can see that once one starts down this road the self sabotage has already set in. It’s only a matter of time before the partner recognizes that the individual is not being genuine or honest in someway and this then arouses suspicion which feels threatening to our individual.

As the individual is unable to tolerate the possibility of having what they consider their deepest character flaws exposed they generally tend to unconsciously create an incident that finally undermines the relationship. This is because they desperately need to escape before they are rejected.

Strangely the belief is that the fear of intimacy protects them from being found out and it also protects them from rejection.

As I think you can see, and may even know first hand, the fear of intimacy only makes one’s life and relationships chaotic.

There is now a new approach to quickly, painlessly, easily and permanently releasing the entire trauma that feeds the fears of rejection and intimacy inside you. It is called the Mind Resonance Process(TM) (MRP) and it is administered over the telephone.
